Blackened Heart

She shake her head. "I wouldn't worry about it, the higher class have always said things like that to me, because they have always seen me doing something that they are use to seeing where they live, people serving them. Well, I guess she thought I was some form of maid help because of the way I dress." She sighs.

He shakes his head. "It is not right, how they treat you..."

She looks down. "Lord Marucus...You and Lord Zander are the only two that have not treated me like a servant...I thank you both, it...means a lot, that I'm not more then just a girl that always cooks and cleans, but I feel like a person that enjoys doing it, because I know that people I do it for will be happy." She looks into his eyes as she smiles.

He smiled back, looking into her eyes. "You need not thank me, Lady Melina. I should be the one thanking you for doing so much for us."

She smiles as she hugs him, she doesn't say anything but holds him tight, thats all she really wanted was for someone to say thank for the work she does. The rest didn't matter to her.

He blushes. "M-Melina..." He hesitates a few moments, then slowly hugs her back, wrapping his strong arms about her small form.

She holds him tighter as a tear falls down her cheek onto his shoulder, she still remains silent.

"A-Ahh... Lady Melina... you're..." He looks at her... she was crying. He held her a bit tighter. "Whats wrong?" He whispered softly.

She holds him tighter as another tear fell as she whispers back. "I-I'm just...so happy...the happiest I've been in such a long time..."

He held her just as tight, whispering back. "What makes you so happy, Lady Melina?"

"That...for the first time in my life...I'm someone..." She buries her face in his shoulder.

He held her tight. "Lady Melina... you've always been someone..."

She shakes her head as she looks at him. "No...I was someone who wanted to make everyone happy, but...I wasn't happy, but this is the first time, I feel...useful...knowing that someone needs me for once I have a purpose, and that makes me happy." She looks deeply into his eyes.

He looks deeply back into her own. "Melina..." It was probably the first time he had ever simply called her by her name, without giving her any sort of title. It was casual... yet... seemed to be more familier... more real.

He wanted to tell her that he would always make her feel like this, would always be loved... but... what was holding him back? All he coudl do was stare into her eyes, speechless.

She looks back into his eyes as she blushes a bit, her heart started to race again...Why? She took his hand as she curled her fingers around his, still looking into his eyes.

His heart beat faster as her finger curled round his. Was.. this for real? She was starting it this time... did this mean...she felt it too? He had to know for sure.

He slowly lifted his other hand, gently pressing it to her heart, looking deep into her eyes, blushing more.

She blushes as she felt this pain rush as he felt her heart she blushed more as she looked at him, she pants a but. "U-Ugh...M-Mi`lord..." She couldn't speak all she could do was look into his eyes.

She... she did feel it. Still, it wasn't enough. He had to let her know he cared. Heheld his hand on her heart, holding her hand. Was he really planning on doing this...?

Yes... Head leaned forward slightly, inching his lips closer to her's. He had to try. He moves his hand from her heart, gently lifting her chin, tilting his head to the side, watching her to make sure he wasn't doing anything wrong.

Her eyes widen, w-was he going to...kiss her? She blushed madly, her lips quiver as she had shivered at his touch, she also leaned up a bit for her lips to meet his, they were centimeters away from each other until Yoona ran out and she yelled out. "No! Stay away from him!" She pulls Melina way from Marucus. "I don't know who you are, but your not just going to come here and take my knight away from me you pessent tramp!" She slaps Melina across the face, Melina stood there with her head turned to the side from the direction of were Yoona slapped her. She then held her cheek and looked at Yoona, then Melina had a tear run down her cheek, she couldn't bare to cry any more as she ran out as Melina called out. "I'm sorry!"

Marucus rose, emotion draining from his face. Was all of this for nothing, all because of her? Had he just wasted everything for a kiss that would now never come?

He stood, still as stone, looking down, his face impossible to read. However, only one word could accurately describe what it was he was feeling. Wrath.

His hands clenched tight, his knuckles turning white as the blood was squeezed out of them.

Yonna felt proud of her self she looked at Marucus. "You will thank me, shes only after you for fame, girls like that are everywhere, you have to push them away."

He looked at her, his eyes filled with unfathomable anger. "Get out of my sight." His voice was more of a threatening growl than that of human quality. He lifted a hand, extending a finger. "Leave me now, before I hurt you."

Her eyes widen, as she froze she couldn't say anything, but she ran as fast as she could, it was dark, out and he was alone, only thing he felt was the after felt of Melina's touch on his hand.

Marucus lowerd his head, walking back in the direction Melina had gone. He knew he would probably never catch her, but even still... if she waited for him... well... he didn't know what he would say, but he wanted to say it anyway.

Melina ran as she shuts her eyes, but tears still traced down her cheeks, she had then tripped and fell to the ground, she didn't have motivation to get up, she was on her knees as she just continued to shed tears as they fell to the ground, she held her cheek that was still hurting from the slap, she had gotten from Yoona...Why was her heart aching so much? Why did that slap hurt her so emotionally? Nothing made sense. As Marucus was walking in her direction, he seen her, on the ground crying. No one was around as most were either sleeping or inside.
